What is a record label internship?

A record label internship is a temporary position where students or aspiring music industry professionals work at a record label to gain hands-on experience. Interns may assist with tasks related to marketing, artist relations, event planning, administrative support, and social media management. These internships provide valuable exposure to the inner workings of the music business and help interns build professional networks. Most internships are unpaid or offer modest compensation, but they can be a stepping stone to full-time roles in the industry.

What types of projects or tasks can interns expect to work on during a record label internship?

As a record label intern, you can expect to be involved in a variety of projects that provide hands-on exposure to the music industry. Typical responsibilities include assisting with social media campaigns, supporting artist relations, helping organize promotional events, and performing administrative duties such as updating databases and tracking media coverage. Interns often collaborate with marketing, A&R, and digital teams, gaining valuable insight into how different departments work together to launch and promote artists. This experience provides a broad foundation for those interested in pursuing a career in music business or entertainment management.
