Job description

About American Spoon In 1982, we began making preserves in our Northern Michigan storefront kitchen. After all these years, our skilled crew still prepares fruit by hand and cooks with care in small-batch copper kettles. We work directly with a dedicated group of Michigan farmers and foragers who grow and gather the unique varieties of fruit we love, prized over generations for unparalleled taste and character.

Our small, family-owned company exists, to find, capture, and preserve flavors you simply won't find anywhere else. Position: Labeling Line Assistant Location: Petoskey, Michigan Company: American Spoon Foods - Proudly crafting award-winning specialty foods since 1982 Job Type: Full-time, Year-round Wage: $16-$18 per hour, depending on experience Description: American Spoon Foods is a nationally recognized artisanal fruit-preserving company, renowned for producing high-quality preserves and condiments in small batches using locally sourced ingredients. We are seeking a reliable, hardworking Labeling Line Assistant to join our production kitchen team.

This is an entry-level role with full training provided. Experience in manufacturing environments and/or equipment maintenance is a major plus. We are a small, dedicated team looking for someone who is eager to jump in, lend a hand wherever needed, and take pride in helping us create exceptional products.

Responsibilities: * Train under the Lead Label Operator to assist with labeling and packaging products to company standards. * Monitor and record quality and safety information accurately. * Help fulfill the daily production schedule efficiently and consistently.

* Maintain a clean, organized labeling area throughout each shift. * Follow all departmental rules, procedures, and quality standards. Qualifications: * High school diploma or equivalent.

* Ability to stand for long periods (up to four hours at a time) and lift up to 50 lbs. * Strong focus, attention to detail, and ability to follow instructions carefully. * Team-oriented mindset — willing to step up and help wherever needed.

* Manufacturing and/or equipment maintenance experience preferred, but not required. * Positive attitude and the ability to stay calm and organized under pressure. What We Offer: * A supportive, team-first environment where your contributions matter.

* 72 hours of paid sick time annually. * Two weeks of paid vacation each year. * No nights, no weekends, and no Fridays — a schedule that supports your work-life balance.

* The opportunity to work for a nationally recognized, award-winning company you can be proud to represent. At American Spoon, we value hard work, kindness, and pride in craftsmanship. If you're ready to join a team where people treat each other right and take pride in their work, we would love to meet you!
