Job Title: Heat Treat Technician 2nd and 3rd Shift
Hourly or salary: Hourly
Position type / expected hours: Full-time
Starting Wage: $19.80 to $22 (depending on department)
CENTURY SUN For over 40 years, Century Sun Metal Treating has been servicing the metal working industry with high quality heat treating services. Producing the optimum metallurgical properties including excellent distortion control and uniformity of hardness have been our goal. Century Sun offers a wide range of thermal processes to assist customers throughout the world. Many OEMs and steel suppliers to the industry now specify Century Sun Metal Treating as the vendor of choice.
SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE
Operate heat treat furnaces and equipment to produce a properly heat-treated product to meet customer requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Operate and work in safe manner and follow all safety regulations.
2. Build furnace loads for heat treat operation.
3. Operate gas/electric/salt furnaces to meet customer requirements.
4. Perform hardness inspection on customer parts.
5. Maintain equipment according to preventative maintenance schedule.
6. Perform general cleaning tasks to help maintain a clean and organized facility
7. Operate fork truck
8. Cross train in other departments.
9. Attend / complete onsite education regarding heat treating and metallurgy.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
1. No previous experience required. Additional training will be provided in-house through multiple methods.
2. Must be able to multitask and maintain awareness and status of multiple furnaces.
3. General ability to operate a computer.
4. Ability to add and subtract time to determine proper beginning or ending of process.
5. Ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions in oral and written formats.
6. Ability to communicate information to internal and external customers in one-on-one or small group setting.
7. Work overtime as required based on work volume in facility.
