Job description

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

The Purchasing & Inventory Coordinator is responsible for processing, tracking, and administrative duties pertaining to sourcing, negotiating, and managing the procurement of raw materials, components and services needed for production, ensuring timely delivery, costs efficiency and quality compliance. On occasional basis, maintain direct customer contact to assist in resolving issues and driving sales opportunities.

Responsible for monitoring, managing, and maintaining the overall inventory level. Maintains frequent communications with suppliers/providers and management to ensure efficiencies in information gathering.

  • Monitor inventory levels and create and track purchase orders.
  • Provide accurate PO updates to assist receiving dept.
  • Prepare and analyze various reports and correspondence on a regular basis
  • Perform processing reports, documents, and purchases in a timely manner
  • Assists in assigned special projects and international inventory transfers as needed.
  • Work closely with management to monitor and maintain all plant inventory programs.
  • Learn our system inside and out so you can run inventory and purchasing reports available and answer inventory questions that come up.
  • Maintain communication with specific vendor contacts and facilitate their needs.
  • Handle vendor issues tactfully
  • Maintain vendor price maintenance tables
  • Investigate any purchasing and inventory discrepancies and communicate the issue with vendor and plant management as necessary.
  • Initiate inventory accurate transfers between inventory locations.
  • Assists in assigned special projects and performs other duties as required

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent degree
  • Minimum one year of experience in inventory control or manufacturing processes.
  • Working knowledge in the use of computer and business-related software, including Microsoft applications Excel, Word, and Outlook. Advanced knowledge in Excel preferred.
  • Preferred understanding of company policies, practices, and procedures
  • Minimum associate's degree or equivalent industry experience.
