Position Summary
We are looking for a motivated individual to join the C.I. team. This person will be responsible for the timely placement of purchase orders and delivery of materials to meet company and customer order requirements while maintaining stock inventory levels within approved guidelines. Must abide by Company Safety Program and Policies, while performing duties safely.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Verifies nomenclature and specifications of purchase requests.  Compiles and distributes core material certifications.

Compares prices, specifications, delivery dates; and places orders with suppliers using Lawson software.

Prepare cost (material and trucking) for resale goods as required, by sales and estimating departments.

Purchase and coordinate all products required for the direct shipment of goods to customers; computes total cost of items purchased.

Consults online catalogs and interviews suppliers to obtain prices and specifications.

Generates by computer invitation of bid forms and sends forms to suppliers.

Generates by computer purchase order and sends copy to supplier for inventoried and non-inventoried materials needed for all divisions (and for other NEBCO companies, as required).

Confers with suppliers concerning late deliveries, non-conforming materials and general problems.

Research discrepancies in receivings and invoices to ensure correct payments are completed in a timely manner.

Verifies bills from suppliers with bids and purchase orders; and approves and codes bills for payment.  Reconciles monthly vendor statements.

Assists with the management of the phone system, copiers, faxes and general office maintenance.

Assists with other office management tasks as needed, included processing mail, switchboard operations, customer service phone calls and walk-ins.

Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements and Education

  • Associates degree in construction management, supply chain management, finance, or related discipline; and
  • two years related experience; or
  • equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:  None required.

Other Skills and Abilities

  • Previous knowledge of construction materials is a plus but not required.
  • Prior knowledge of or ability to quickly learn multiple inventory and order processing software.
  • Must have previous work experience which includes office software skills in Microsoft Office, specifically spreadsheets (Excel), word processing (Word), and modification of PDF documents.
  • Must have good work habits. Incumbent may be required to work overtime on short notice during spring and summer months or during periods of increased workload.
