We're looking for a Purchasing Coordinatorto join our team. In this role, you'll play a critical part in ensuring our projects have the right materials, at the right time, at the best value. You'll work closely with Project Managers, Estimators, Fabrication, Warehouse, Logistics, and Accounting while building strong partnerships with vendors and suppliers to keep projects on schedule and running efficiently.


What You'll Do

As our Purchasing Coordinator, you will:

  • Source and purchase mechanical construction materials, including pipe, fittings, valves, rental equipment, and specialty products.
  • Develop procurement plans that align with project schedules, fabrication timelines, and field installation needs.
  • Request competitive quotations, evaluate vendors, and negotiate pricing, freight terms, and delivery schedules.
  • Issue and manage purchase orders, ensuring accuracy from order placement through delivery.
  • Monitor material lead times and proactively resolve shortages, delays, or supply chain issues.
  • Coordinate deliveries with Warehouse, Logistics, Receiving, and project teams to ensure materials arrive when and where they're needed.
  • Communicate material status and lead times with Project Managers and field teams.
  • Support project buyout activities and monitor purchasing commitments.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and manufacturers.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings, value engineering, and continuous improvement.


What You Bring

We're looking for someone who has:

  • 3-5 years of purchasing experience, preferably in mechanical construction, industrial distribution, or a related industry.
  • Experience purchasing mechanical piping systems, plumbing materials, or industrial products (preferred).
  • An Associate's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred).
  • Experience with ERP or purchasing systems such as CMiC (or similar software).
  • Professional certifications such as CPSM, CPM, or CSCP are a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical construction materials and supply chains.
  • Excellent negotiation and vendor relationship management skills.
  • Ability to read construction drawings, specifications, and material schedules.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment while working both independently and collaboratively.
