Job Description

The salary range for this position is $70k - $80k annually.

Join our team as Purchasing Manager and become one of the authors of our story.ย  As part of the Auberge family, you will be responsible for the procurement of food items, equipment, supplies, and services required by the hotel.ย  This individual will be expected to negotiate the best possible cost consistent with the quality and level of services provided.ย  He or she will oversee the supervision, training and development of the Storeroom staff.ย 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manages the Storeroom operation.ย  Selects, trains, schedules, supervises, counsels, and handles the administrative function of the Storeroom staff in accordance with established standards of hotel policy, safety, productivity and performance.

  • Does the timely ordering and purchasing of all food items, equipment, furniture, supplies, and services.ย  Essential to the process would be the negotiation of the best price for value.ย  Obtains two to three bids or quotations as applicable to facilitate this process.ย  Processes purchase requisitions on a timely basis.ย  Follows-up on orders to ensure specifications and proper pars are met.

  • Works closely with Executive Chef and Catering on the purchase of food items with consideration of prevailing market conditions, occupancy, forecasts and the popularity of certain dishes.

  • Works with vendors to keep the price lists current.ย  Actively seeks out new resources.ย  Keeps up to date on trends and innovations in equipment.ย  Meets with department managers to evaluate their needs and determine order schedules and deadlines.

REQUIRES QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum: 2 years experience in a similar position, in a related setting.ย  Prefer previous experience in a similar role at another resort or hospitality related environment.

  • Overall knowledge of food and beverage items, basic food costs and payroll cost control.

  • Overall knowledge of supplies and equipment as it relates to the hospitality industry.

Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Birchstreet purchasing system.
