What does a publications editor do?

A Publications Editor is responsible for overseeing the content, style, and quality of written material before it is published. They review submissions for accuracy, clarity, and consistency, working closely with writers, designers, and other editors. Publications Editors may also manage editorial calendars, ensure adherence to publishing standards, and coordinate the production process from manuscript to final publication. Their work ensures that the final product meets the intended audience’s needs and maintains the organization’s reputation.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a publications editor?

To thrive as a Publications Editor, you need excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills, often supported by a degree in English, journalism, or communications.
