JOB SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Vice President, IT, this role will be responsible for providing, developing and implementing Blue Bird’s data strategy with the purpose of delivering the right data, to the right people at the right time. The ideal candidate will be interpreting and analyzing complex datasets to provide insights and support data-driven decision making within Blue Bird. This role will work alongside IT business analysts and business executives to gather and transform data, conduct statistical analyses, and create visualizations and reports that will contribute to identifying trends, patterns, and opportunities that drive business initiatives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Interprets results using a variety of techniques, ranging from simple data aggregation to more complex statistical analysis
  • Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality
  • Collaborate with data engineers and IT professionals to optimize data collection, storage, and retrieval processes
  • Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems
  • Uses statistical methods and techniques to identify patterns, trends, correlations, and anomalies, and extract meaningful insights
  • Completes the gathering and cleaning processes for data from various sources, ensuring data integrity and quality
  • Monitors data quality to identify data issues and propose data cleansing or enhancement solutions
  • Work with management to prioritize business and information needs
  • Locate and define new process improvement opportunities
  • Develops and maintains dashboards, reports, and visualizations to communicate data findings effectively
  • Identifies KPIs and develops metrics to track and measure business performance
  • Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in data analysis, visualization, and reporting
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by management, within scope of practice

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES FOR SUCCESS:

  • Knowledge of statistical analysis techniques and concepts for both descriptive and inferential statistics
  • Knowledge of data visualization best practices to effectively communicate insight
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret complex datasets and generate meaningful insights
  • Familiarity with data modeling and data warehousing concepts
  • Strong skills developing in and managing PowerBI
  • Ability to communicate complex analytical topics to multiple stakeholders in a clean and simple manner to address current and future business challenges
  • Ability to work with large datasets through data cleaning, preprocessing, and transformation techniques
  • Ability to drive and complete projects/initiatives successfully amongst different stakeholders within the company
  • Ability to manage diverse assignments while simultaneously working within a deadline driven environment
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain data accuracy and integrity
  • Proven project experience with programming languages such as SQL, Python, and R for data manipulation and analysis
  • Proven project experience with data analysis and visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, and Excel

BASIC EDUCATION AND EXPEREINCE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Business Administration, Data Science, Mathematics, Computer Science or other related analytical field; or equivalent experience required
  • At least 2 years of experience as a data analyst, data scientist, BI analyst, or related profession
  • All candidates must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
