Job description

Job Title: Biliterate Material Proofer
Job Location: San Bernardino, CA
Pay rate: $20.67
Duration: Approx. 90 days
Examples of Minimum Requirements include but are not limited to:

  • Knowledge of proper English and Spanish usage, spelling, grammar, vocabulary, and punctuation in oral and written communication
  • Ability to understand, interpret, and translate oral and written information in English and Spanish
  • Fluently speak, read, and write in Spanish
  • Ability to communicate professionally, clearly, and effectively both orally and written
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to follow direction and work independently with some direction
  • Basic computer skills with advanced typing speed and accuracy
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Ability to multitask
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work long hours

Examples of Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Proof election materials for accuracy including; letter to letter comparison, formatting and punctuation
  • Verify that election selection codes accurately display the correct ballot
  • Verify that all bitmaps and short names are displayed properly
  • Verify that audio is recorded correctly
  • Perform ballot tabulation logic testing to ensure ballot counting machines are tallying correctly (internally & for the public) including: checking in, marking,  and testing ballots through ballot counting machine, assist in gathering results from tally server, filling out related paperwork
  • Type-setting and proofing all election material
  • Update workflow database
  • Maintain filing system for Voter Information Guide documents
  • Communicate with internal and external customers
