Job Summary:

The BESS Project Scheduler is responsible for developing, maintaining, and analyzing detailed project schedules for Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects. This role plays a critical part in ensuring projects are delivered on time by providing accurate schedule forecasts, identifying risks, and supporting project teams with data-driven insights across engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and energization phases. This role requires a strong leader that will take ownership of driving accurate and up to date scheduling across multiple projects as well as taking initiative to drive process improvements where there is an opportunity to improve.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain integrated project schedules for BESS projects from NTP through COD
  • Build schedules covering engineering, procurement, manufacturing, logistics, civil, electrical, installation, commissioning, and grid interconnection
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Construction Managers, OEMs, and subcontractors to validate logic, durations, and sequencing
  • Perform critical path analysis, float analysis, and schedule risk assessments
  • Track project progress and update schedules using actuals, forecasts, and recovery plans
  • Identify schedule impacts related to procurement delays, permitting, weather, interconnection, or change orders
  • Prepare schedule narratives, look-ahead schedules, and progress reports for internal and external stakeholders
  • Support claims, change management, and time-impact analyses as required
  • Ensure schedules align with contract milestones, EPC agreements, and owner requirements
  • Maintain schedule standards, templates, and best practices across the portfolio
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, Project Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of project scheduling experience in utility-scale energy, power generation, or heavy civil construction
  • Direct experience supporting BESS, solar, wind, or substation projects
  • Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 (required)
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Project and Excel
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing, procurement lead times, and commissioning activities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with EPC contracts and utility-scale energy storage projects
  • Knowledge of battery OEM workflows (manufacturing, FAT, shipping, commissioning)
  • Familiarity with Power BI or other reporting/analytics tools
  • Experience supporting schedule recovery plans and delay analysis
  • Experience developing resource-loaded and cost-loaded schedules
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present schedule data clearly to non-technical stakeholders

Work Environment/Physical Requirements:

  • Combination of office, remote, and active construction site environments
  • Ability to work extended hours during critical project phases
  • Working in all weather conditions
  • Must be able to lift more than 50 lbs.
  • May require overtime, nights, or weekends based on project needs
