Job description

We are seeking an experienced Portfolio Manager to drive enterprise-wide project portfolio governance, strategic alignment, and delivery excellence. The ideal candidate will oversee the prioritization, planning, execution, and reporting of multiple programs and projects, ensuring investments deliver maximum business value while effectively managing risks, resources, and dependencies.
In this role, you will:
• Align project and program portfolios with organizational strategy, business objectives, and transformation initiatives.
• Evaluate business cases, investment proposals, and project requests to recommend approval, prioritization, deferment, or termination based on value, risk, and strategic fit.
• Manage cross-program dependencies, monitor portfolio health, and ensure realization of expected business benefits and outcomes.
• Oversee portfolio-level resource planning, capacity management, budgeting, and funding allocation to optimize utilization and delivery performance.
• Establish and maintain governance frameworks, project controls, and risk management processes to support executive decision-making and compliance requirements.

What you need to have to be considered
• 10+ years of experience in Portfolio Management, PMO Leadership, Program Management, or Project Governance.
• Proven experience managing large, complex portfolios with multiple concurrent projects and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Strong expertise in portfolio planning, prioritization, budgeting, forecasting, and resource management.
• Experience implementing governance frameworks, risk management processes, and performance reporting mechanisms.
• Proficiency with portfolio and project management tools such as Clarity, Planview, MS Project, Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.
Salary and Other Compensation:
The annual salary for this position is between $ 81,337 to $ 141,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
