Project Engineer

The Project Engineer is a highly skilled and detailed orientated Project Manager and Designer with experience in design of air handling equipment. This role is responsible for providing detailed designs, bills of materials, and drawings for each job, ensuring equipment meets performance standards. This person will manage projects from design submittal through successful build out while coordinating with manufacturing, engineering, and vendor teams.


Job Duties:

  • Review and modify specifications for the custom air handling equipment provided by the Sales Engineer to ensure the design meets customer needs.
  • Utilize tools and calculators to select the appropriate compressors, fans, coils and components needed to match specifications laid out.
  • Provide detailed designs, BOM's, and drawings on custom air handling equipment for each job sold.
  • Serve as project manager for the job starting with providing a detailed design submittal, supporting manufacturing, and ensuring an on-time shipment of the equipment. Project completion will happen once the equipment has been successfully started up at the customer's site.
  • Work collaboratively with fellow engineers to review submittal documents and implement changes to standard processes.
  • Coordinate resolution of any job-related field issues. Provide technical support as needed.
  • Provide support as required on engineering design tools.
  • Review new vendor product offerings and support, as needed, their implementations into XeteX designs.


Requirements

  • BS in Engineering and 5 years or more of industry experience, preferably related to commercial air handling products. Or, 8 years or more of industry experience in sizing and selecting air handler equipment
  • Strong thermodynamics background preferred - especially with refrigeration or heat recovery systems.
  • Broad knowledge of applied Engineering principles mechanical disciplines.
  • AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or other CAD software proficiency required.
  • Detail-oriented, ability to plan, organize, set priorities and manage multiple projects.
  • High level of analytical ability is required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products required.
  • Ability to travel independently. Travel is infrequent and less than 10%.
