Description:

Reporting to the Manager, PMO, the Project professional is responsible for the delivery of a portfolio of program management oversight projects under multiple clients. Ensures that the portfolio of program management oversight projects for all clients are all in accordance with established PMO guidelines and PMI best practices. Communicate frequently with the client, to proactively manage any potential deviations with the scope/schedule/budget and coordinate change management as quickly as possible. Maintain ongoing contact with the client to “sell through the work”, by understanding client needs, and demonstrating Think Power Solutions’ ability to solve the client’s known and unknown challenges as well as providing real-time, actionable data to our clients.


Responsibilities


Sell

  • Proactively look out for opportunities to grow the business by keeping eyes and ears open on the client side
  • Get manager involved in a timely manner to close opportunities to grow the business

Partner with the Information Technology team

  • Ensure client and employee software needs are met, collaborating with the development team if any revisions to existing or new development on software is needed
  • Utilize traditional forecasting and project management software, as well as Think Power Solutions and client proprietary software, and perform QA/QC on software products
  • Identify issues and resolve problems related to project modeling software
  • Engage in independent decision-making related to electric utilities business operations, resource allocation, budgeting, financials, engineering, land acquisitions, and construction operations
  • Manage and support month-end update process in project management software
  • Manipulation of large amounts of project data through pivot tables, conditional formatting functions, chart creation and what if scenario analysis capabilities requiring proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • Identify project issues with such complex databases and resolve issues independently

Skills/Proficiencies

  • Familiarity with project controls and/or project management principles and software relevant to the assigned project, as well as database software
  • Understand how Think Power Solutions’ applications work, and the competitive advantage they offer, so that it can be shared with the team and with the client
  • Must be able to interpret client goals and objectives and turn into actionable deliverables
  • Good understanding of scheduling principles and methods; ability to think analytically and critically
  • Ability to work in a team environment, and communicate well in person and remotely
  • Proficient at using mobile tablet and phones, computer and Microsoft Office products, including intermediate to advanced capabilities with Microsoft Excel
  • Possesses general working knowledge of the power utility industry or construction industry, including safety processes and terminology
Requirements:
  • Capable of scheduling using Primavera P6
  • PMI certification preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM field preferred
