Project Overview:

The Cold Creek Solar & Storage Project is a large‑scale renewable energy development located near San Angelo, Texas, delivering 430 MWac of solar generation paired with a 170 MWac (340 MWh) battery energy storage system. Developed in partnership with Doral Renewables, this project represents one of Bechtel’s largest single‑phase solar projects to date and its fifth solar facility in Texas.

Job Summary:

The Planner is responsible for schedule development, maintenance, and monitoring activities. You will apply established unit job hour and pricing data, perform schedule integrations, prepare work logic, identify constraints and potential impacts, develop recovery plans, and evaluate subcontractor schedules for risks and improvements. #LI-ML1

Major Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for schedule baseline preparation and initial project setup
  • Establishes and maintains the schedule for specific disciplines, commodities, areas and/or specialties
  • Performs schedule development tasks to include establishing the work breakdown structure (WBS), determining the work activity duration, establishing the proper workflow logic ties, and developing the planned percent complete work-off
  • Performs schedule monitoring, including identifying critical activities and updating functions for specific applications, disciplines, or specialties
  • Identifies and reports on activities that are on the critical path, as well as activities that are on near-critical paths
  • Identifies schedule trends for management attention
  • Reviews, validates, integrates, and monitors subcontractor schedules
Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) in engineering, construction management, business or related field and 5 - 8 years of relevant experience or 9 - 12 years of relevant work experience
Required Knowledge and Skills:
    • Skilled in oral and written communication with demonstrated skill to present information to management and clients
    • Proficient in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Office 365 software applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
    • Ability to take initiative in project related tasks and coordination with various stakeholders
    • Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload to ensure effective project delivery
    • Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team atmosphere
    • Technical and practical comprehension of engineering, procurement, and construction functions and general business techniques
    • Demonstrated understanding of project controls core processes and procedures including, cost control, planning, risk analysis, estimating, trend reporting and information management
    • Experience in delivering large-scale process plant projects
