Our client is currently seeking an Electrical Engineering Project Lead with at least 3+ years of experience in the Canadian buildings construction industry (electrical engineering focus). You will work on the conceptual and detailed design of building electrical systems in an integrated environment. Responsibilities include design coordination, preparation of working drawings and specifications, project management, site visits, and the opportunity to lead projects with strong support and mentorship from senior staff.JOB DUTIES
  • Lead and collaborate on project delivery, including project management, contract administration, and field reviews for projects under construction.
  • Maintain exceptional client service throughout project delivery, ensuring clear communication and acting on client feedback.
  • Participate in business development with associates, including preparing fee proposals.
  • Review and assess existing electrical systems and prepare condition reports.
  • Provide technical advisory services to clients for specific electrical engineering projects.
  • Work on a wide range of project assignments in building systems, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems.
  • Prepare load calculations and analysis using industry-standard electrical engineering software.
  • Strengthen existing skills and deliver engineering projects in alignment with client requirements and best practices in the industry.
  • Conduct internal technical reviews and verification checks for reports, designs, and specifications.
  • Perform other duties as required.
REQUIREMENTS
  • 3 to 8 years of professional experience in electrical engineering, specifically in building systems (power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and low voltage systems).
  • EIT or registered engineer in Ontario (or eligible for registration) is preferred.
  • Electrical designers will also be considered.
  • Familiarity with the electrical engineering environment, including detailed design drawings, tender packages, feasibility studies, budget estimates, shop drawing reviews, commissioning, and condition assessments.
  • Extensive understanding of building construction and electrical systems.
  • Detailed working knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) and the Ontario Building Code (OBC).
