We are currently seeking a full-time Senior Project Associate for our Project Development Business Unit. This position will be hybrid, located in Denver, CO; Houston, TX; New York, NY; State College, PA.


Position Description


The Senior Project Associate will assist in implementing and managing ClimeCoโ€™s portfolio of various environmental commodity project types that generate impact and value through the mitigation or abatement of greenhouse gas emissions and related environmental impacts. This position will focus on supporting ClimeCoโ€™s Industrial Gas (Nitrous Oxide) emission reduction project portfolio at large industrial facilities. The projects are conducted in accordance with strict performance, monitoring, and reporting (i.e., 40 CFR Part 75) requirements. The Project Senior Project Associate will interface with diverse project partners and facility operators, monitor project development and operational status, manage project data and documentation, and assist with voluntary market compliance reporting.


Candidates should have a strong interest in environmental business, specifically data analysis, and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, analytical skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office, and be highly organized with fine attention to detail. The ideal candidate will have excellent critical thinking, strong mathematical competencies (i.e., statistical analysis), introductory-level experience or higher with modern programming languages and platforms, and knowledge of databases and data analysis procedures. Professional experience with industrial chemical production processes and emission monitoring systems, database management, environmental data reporting, and project information management systems is not required, but would be valuable.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Support the implementation and management of ClimeCoโ€™s portfolio of industrial emissions reduction projects by performing with data collection, analysis, reporting and verification of emission reduction calculations and project adherence with voluntary compliance standards
  • Provide oversite to project partners to ensure compliance with all relevant carbon offset (or other EAC) protocol requirements.
  • Prepare technical analyses and perform quality assurance reviews of emission reduction calculations and data reports
  • Produce documentation to support procurement, development, and implementation of projects, including procedures, schedules, and deliverables
  • Engage with and maintain working relationships with project owners/operators, clients, verification bodies, internal stakeholders, and carbon registries
  • Maintain project-related files and update project reporting metrics
  • Coordinate verification site visits and travel to support verifications as necessary
Requirements:

Minimum Requirements


  • BS/BA in applied mathematics, engineering, engineering technology, physical sciences, or related carbon mitigation fields
  • Strong interest in engineered, market-based solutions to global environmental challenges such as climate change and resource scarcity
  • Comfortable balancing dynamic processes and priorities while working on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proficient in Microsoft Officeโ€™s suite of programs and software, particularly Excel.
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, and organizational skills with great attention to organization and detail and ability to communicate findings clearly in writing and verbally
  • Ability to create high-quality technical deliverables with minimal oversight
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Occasional business travel as needed, estimated <10% of the time subject to change with ongoing business
