The Senior Associate will lead projects across the aviation space, taking responsibility for managing the project through the entire (or part thereof) Project Lifecycle, as well as supporting the G&T Partner in commission management, including fee forecasting and resource management. The Senior Associate is responsible for leading the delivery of the project to time, to budget and to specification, ensuring the project achieves all project goals and objectives in accordance with the employer's requirements and the corporate strategic intent for the project/programme/portfolio, whilst ensuring the commission remains profitable for the company and staff members are developing in line with their development plans.
The key responsibilities of the role will include:
  • Work closely with the Partner to deliver successful project outcomes for our clients.
  • Leading a large team of professionals on the project to deliver successful project outcomes, taking complex projects from start to finish.
  • Proven leadership and influencing skills to support successful project delivery.
  • Deliver projects to defined cost, schedule and quality requirements leading successful handover.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, contractors, stakeholders and other professional services.
  • Foster a close relationship with the client's team and other professional team members. Maximizing on opportunities to enhance service delivery through service performance and relationships.
  • Develop new relationships with prospective clients and convert opportunities.
  • Effectively delegate tasks to team members and monitor performance
  • Monitor project progress and performance, identifying and mitigating risks.
  • Manage project resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials.
  • Prepare and present project reports and documentation.
  • Work with the Client team to define the Employers Requirements and fully understand the scope to ensure outcomes are in line with Client expectations.
  • Understand the critical success factors for all work stages of the project lifecycle, and be able to manage your role as part of these stages. This includes:
    • Continually develop your understanding of current industry challenges and opportunities such as modern methods of construction, environmental, social and governance agenda, and pre-manufacture value.
    • Develop your powerful communication skills to be confident and clear in your communication both internally and externally, both written and verbal.
    • Utilise and help improve best practice tools and processes including the use of technology to support service delivery.
  • Promote the continued professional development of staff through guidance and knowledge sharing.
  • Communicate with colleagues and network contacts to develop new project leads.
  • Production of fee proposals / bids.
  • Strong experience in leading high value infrastructure projects (20m+) in a live operational environment, with a strong preference for experience within the aviation sector. 
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Professional Accreditation (RICS, CIOB, APM or equivalent) Is preferred. 
  • Analytical with problem-solving skills, and ability to think strategically.
  • Experience with working on multiple projects with different clients and consultant teams and can demonstrate project leadership skills in relation to specific project tasks.
  • Proficiency in using industry contracts such as the JCT & NEC suite of contracts, and experience in contract administration and negotiations.
  • Understand the importance of client and other project relationships fostering close relationships with clients, resolving issues, and exceeding client expectations.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • Highly motivated and positive attitude with a willingness to get involved, authentic in the workplace.
  • Team-focused and collaborative, with experience in successfully leading teams and developing talent
