Machine Builder - Automation Assembly Equipment
Location: Dayton, OH
Job Type: Contract / Temporary Project Assignment
Position Overview
Seeking an experienced Machine Builder to support a Tier 1 automotive manufacturing assembly line project in Dayton, Ohio. This position is ideal for individuals with a strong background in industrial automation, mechanical assembly, and machine building who thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Assemble automated machinery, production equipment, and manufacturing systems from engineering drawings and specifications
  • Read and interpret mechanical assembly prints, layouts, and manufacturing drawings
  • Install, align, and fit machine components to required tolerances
  • Support machine build, integration, testing, and installation activities
  • Operate and utilize machine shop equipment, including milling machines and lathes, as required
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues and assist with modifications during the build process
  • Work closely with engineering, project management, and manufacturing teams to meet project milestones and deadlines
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment while adhering to company safety standards
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of machine building, industrial automation, or mechanical assembly experience
  • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, assembly drawings, and mechanical schematics
  • Experience with hand tools, power tools, precision measuring instruments, and machine shop equipment
  • Hands-on experience operating milling machines, lathes, or similar machining equipment
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
