Title: Associate Project Manager

Salary Range: $85,000-100,000+

Location: Newark

Department: Transportation
Employment Type: Full Time

Work Arrangement: Hybrid / Remote


Position Overview 

Environmental Design Group is seeking a qualified Associate Project Manager to plan and manage projects for our Transportation Client Service Group. Projects may include roadway improvements, roundabouts, traffic signals, highway lighting, multi-use trails, sidewalks, transportation planning, streetscape, storm sewer systems, and culverts. This position will provide both technical and client management project leadership.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
  • Certifications: PE or other relevant certification
  • Experience: 5+ years
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office and computer-aided design and other industry-based software is required.
  • Advanced communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Advanced analytical and creative thinking.
  • Excellent leadership and organizational skills in a team-oriented environment.
  • Enhanced presentation skills.

What You'll Do 

  • Provide ongoing direction to associates related to project tasks, budgets, schedules, and deliverables.
  • Review and manage associate performance in alignment with project goals.
  • Manage assigned projects with Project Manager oversight, including scheduling, budgets, invoicing, quality requirements, team coordination, and client satisfaction.
  • Monitor project budgets, report variances, and help develop corrective action plans.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients, project teams, regulatory agencies, and external stakeholders.
  • Assist with presentations to clients, stakeholders, public groups, and regulatory agencies.
  • Support project risk identification and mitigation throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager on proposals, contracts, project scope, budgets, and deliverables.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, participate in industry and community engagement activities, and support business development efforts.
  • Identify future project opportunities, client needs, and service opportunities.
  • Adhere to company QA/QC Performance Standards.

Physical and Travel Requirements

Supervisor Responsibility

This position will review, mentor, develop, and manage staff's performance to both project's and company's goals and expectations. Management activities may include participating in interviews and hiring decisions, training new staff, and performance management.
