We are seeking an experienced IT PMO (Project Management Office) Manager to lead our team in implementing, monitoring, and enhancing uniform project management standards within our IT department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management methodologies, excellent leadership skills, and a proven track record of driving continuous improvement initiatives. As the IT PMO Manager, you will oversee a team of skilled project and program managers, ensuring the successful delivery of IT projects while adhering to established standards and processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and Mentor Team: Provide leadership and mentorship to a team of project and program managers. Effectively manage the performance of staff members, ensuring the achievement of annual objectives. Attract, develop, and retain high-caliber program/project leaders and contributors.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with stakeholders for efficient risk management in projects. Identify and address stakeholder concerns to ensure project success.
  • Resource Management: Oversee resource management, including capacity planning of Project Managers across the portfolio of projects. Coordinate with resource managers to ensure optimal allocation of resources.
  • Communication: Communicate essential project information to IT and business leadership teams. Deliver effective communication through presentations and team meetings.
  • Facilitate Dissemination of Best Practices: Lead efforts to disseminate project management best practices and provide assistance in utilizing project management tools such as ServiceNow. Support training initiatives and contribute to reporting enhancements.
  • Vendor Coordination: Coordinate with vendors, as needed, for effective project execution. Ensure vendor contracts and relationships support project objectives.
  • Project Data Management: Gather and centralize project data from Project Managers and business stakeholders to generate routine reports and provide valuable insights for governance at all levels.
  • Resolve Interdependencies: Acknowledge interdependencies among programs, take action to alleviate or resolve bottlenecks, and advocate for the effective utilization of resources.
  • Budget Management: Assist with developing and controlling the IT portfolio budget. Manage expenditures within agreed spending plans and establish budgeting standards for project managers.
  • Implement, Monitor, and Enhance Project Management Standards: Develop and maintain uniform project management standards to elevate the capabilities of the IT department. Continuously monitor adherence to procedures and identify opportunities for improvement.

  • Project Management Expertise: Comprehensive knowledge of project management methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall. Ability to apply these methodologies effectively to IT projects and programs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Master’s degree or PMP certification is a plus.

8+ years of experience in IT project management, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
