MAINTENANCE PLANNER/SCHEDULER

The Maintenance Scheduler/Planner is responsible for planning, prioritizing, and coordinating preventative and corrective maintenance activities to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable equipment operation. This role partners closely with maintenance, production, and external vendors to balance workloads, optimize scheduling, and drive completion of maintenance work orders. The position also supports continuous improvement of maintenance processes and systems while maintaining compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Plan, prioritize, and schedule preventive and corrective maintenance work to align with production needs and available resources [
  • Review and manage incoming maintenance requests, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and proper work order creation
  • Coordinate daily and weekly maintenance schedules, adjusting plans based on changing priorities and operational needs
  • Monitor work order and preventative maintenance completion, addressing gaps, delays, and follow-up actions as needed
  • Partner with maintenance and production teams to schedule repairs, minimize downtime, and optimize equipment reliability
  • Maintain and continuously improve the preventative maintenance program, ensuring documentation is current and accurate within CMMS systems
  • Utilize maintenance systems and reporting tools (e.g., CMMS/Maximo, dashboards) to track performance, identify trends, and support data-driven decisions
  • Collaborate with supervisors and leadership to develop short- and long-term maintenance plans, including plant shutdowns, projects, and regulatory work
  • Support coordination of contractors and vendors, including scheduling work and ensuring compliance with site requirements
  • Develop and refine maintenance job plans using equipment data, manufacturer recommendations, and team feedback
  • Facilitate communication across maintenance and production teams, including providing updates on priorities, schedules, and progress
  • Participate in routine meetings (daily, weekly, monthly) to review maintenance performance and align on priorities
  • Maintain organized records of equipment, maintenance activities, and documentation to support audits and operational needs
  • Support safety initiatives, regulatory compliance activities, and continuous improvement efforts across the site

REPORTING STRUCTURE

  • This position reports to the Maintenance Manager.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical or trade training preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in maintenance, manufacturing, or a related technical field
  • Experience coordinating maintenance schedules, projects, or work orders in a manufacturing environment
  • Familiarity with CMMS systems (Maximo preferred) and maintenance planning processes
  • Strong computer and data analysis skills, including experience using reporting tools
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and equipment documentation
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across departments
