Reports To: Sports Director
Status: Part- Time, 25 hours or less per week.
Reporting to the Sports Program Manager, Girls Inc. Sports Program Coaches work toÂ
deliver year-round sports programming in conjunction with other Girls Inc. programming.Â
These individuals facilitate sports programming and may occasionally facilitate in-centerÂ
programming. Sports programming is integral to the Girls Inc. Experience and is intendedÂ
to help girls participate in healthy lifestyle activities and competitive sports to enhanceÂ
girls' well-being, development, confidence, and success. Coaches must deliverÂ
programming that motivates and inspires girls to be active participants in programÂ
activities and promotes girls' long-term participation in Girls Inc.
Principal Responsibilities
- Â Help plan and deliver sports-based programming
- Â Work collaboratively with Sports and Program staff to ensure that girls receive the benefits of all Girls Inc. programming in addition to sports participation.
- Â Engage girls in a fun, interactive, and empowered learning environment
- Â Record and submit accurate daily program attendance and evaluation reports and other reports as required
- Â Help plan and supervise field trips
- Â In partnership with Sports Manager and Program Director, coaches communicate with parents regarding sports programming content, goals and outcomes
- Â Assist in fostering strong, collaborative relationships with school personnel and Girls Inc. staff to ensure open communication, information-sharing, and integrated student support
- Â Assist with student recruitment and registration
- Â Collaborate with the Sports Manager to identify specific programming needs
- Â Participate in staff meetings and conferences to share ideas and concerns, and work collaboratively with other staff to meet organizational goals and achieve program objectives
- Â Other duties as assigned

Employment by Girls Inc. for all positions is contingent upon successfully passing a criminalÂ
background check, including a sex offender check, as well as a pre-employment drug screening andÂ
a review of Department of Motor Vehicles records as required and allowable by law. EmployeesÂ
hired for positions requiring a valid driver's license must be continuously insurable under the GirlsÂ
Inc. insurance policy throughout their employment period.

Requirements
Required
- Â High school diploma
- Â Previous coaching experience in a combination of the following youth sports: soccer, basketball, volleyball, softball, swimming, tennis, golf, track & field, cheerleading, gymnastics, dance, lacrosse, martial arts and/or other youth sports.
- Â Experience with group facilitation/instruction experience with youth
- Â Proficient technology skills
- Â Experience in experiential programming
- Â Effective communication skills (written and oral)
- Â Knowledge of and commitment to the mission of Girls Inc.
- Â Knowledge of local community resources
- Â Flexible schedule, with some weekends/nights required
- Â Strong organizational skills and ability to problem solve
- Â Valid Driver's License and access to reliable transportation (Driving is required for this position)
Preferred
- Â 2+ years of undergraduate coursework in physical education, health science or a related field
- Â Previous experience working with diverse populations
- Â Knowledge of girls' developmental needs and experience
- Â Adult and Child CPR and First Aid Certification
- Â Lifeguard certification (or willingness to obtain such certification)
