Job description

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Manages the overall administration and coordination of non-academic programs, ensuring alignment with university goals and objectives
  • Develops and implements program strategies to optimize performance and ensure effective delivery of program goals, timelines, and resource allocation
  • Oversees the planning and execution of program events, coordinating logistics, communications, and resources to ensure successful outcomes
  • Collaborates with internal stakeholders, including faculty, staff, and students, to ensure programs are executed smoothly and meet the needs of the university community
  • Evaluates program effectiveness by conducting assessments, gathering feedback, and identifying opportunities to enhance program impact and efficiency
  • Monitors program budgets, ensuring financial resources are effectively managed, expenses are tracked, and budget goals are met
  • Provides guidance and support to program teams, offering leadership on program best practices, troubleshooting challenges, and mentoring team members
  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Knowledge of program management principles and best practices, including strategic planning, budgeting, and resource allocation
  • Knowledge of event coordination and logistics management, ensuring smooth planning, execution, and evaluation of program-related activities
  • Skill in budget management, including forecasting, tracking expenses, and ensuring programs stay within allocated financial resources
  • Skill in problem-solving and conflict resolution, identifying challenges and implementing solutions to keep programs on track and meet objectives

Minimum Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in related field

Job Level Overview
Specialized Contributor Level 2 - A fully functional role requiring established knowledge of the profession or field of work. Responsible for completing substantive assignments and projects. Problems are varied and non-routine, and resolution requires exercising judgment, analysis, advisement, creativity, and understanding broader sets of issues. May provide assistance to entry level staff.
Additional Details
This position reports to the center director and is responsible for supporting international programs for Deaf and hard-of-hearing students as well as designing and implementing programs and initiatives that further NTID's international outreach. The Program Manager will utilize existing networks to develop and grow partnerships with businesses and organizations and address policy issues related to deaf education. The Program Manager will organize activities and meetings with various stakeholders and recruit additional expert consultants to assist with project-specific tasks as needed. The Program Manager will develop metrics and organize and conduct evaluations of each initiative. Will assist in writing mid-term and annual reports and represent the center director in their absence.
This role requires expertise in international education, Deaf education, and program management. The Program Manager will collaborate with NTID faculty, staff, and international partners to strengthen NTID's global presence, drive successful educational outreach, and ensure the recruitment, retention, and success of international students. This position also oversees the Sasakawa-DeCaro Endowed Scholarship and provides strategic direction to meet institutional goals for the fund.
