Job Description: POSITION SUMMARY The Community College of Aurora is a dynamic institution committed to serving its diverse staff and student population through principles of equity and inclusion. CCA is seeking a full-time Nurse Aide Program Faculty and Coordinator member for the Health Sciences Department. This position is a faculty role who serves as the designated program coordinator for the Nurse Aide Program. The position is responsible for coordinating and sustaining the Nurse Aide program, teaching Health Sciences courses, and developing and evaluating curriculum. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Instructional Responsibilities:Teach assigned courses in classroom, laboratory, clinical, hybrid, and/or online settings which may include day, evening, and weekend schedules.Maintain required office and campus hours and support students through advising, timely feedback, and academic guidance.Maintain professional communication and collaborative relationships with students, faculty, staff, and college partners.Provide inclusive, evidence-based instruction while maintaining a compliant, supportive learning environment and curriculum-aligned course materials. Program Coordination:Serve as the primary Nurse Aide Program Coordinator, ensuring compliance with Colorado DORA Chapter XI Rules and Regulations for Approval of Nurse Aide Training Programs and applicable Colorado Board of Nursing requirements.Monitor program outcomes, including certification pass rates, and implement strategies to support student success and exceed state minimum benchmarks.Develop and evaluate curriculum per stakeholder needs and regulatory requirements, recommend changes as appropriate. Coordinate and support satellite NUA programs, ensuring alignment with departmental standards, regulatory requirements, and student success outcomes.Assist with class scheduling, staffing, and preparation of materials as requested. Implement student assessment, retention, and compliance processes and support annual program evaluation and reporting.Assist with program budgeting and resource planning in coordination with the Department Chair.Assist with maintaining student compliance. Coordinate and support qualified instructors delivering classroom, laboratory, and clinical instruction to students in collaboration with the Department Chair.Maintain required Board of Nursing reporting, clinical agreements, and continuous program evaluation processes to ensure ongoing compliance and quality improvement. Clinical Responsibilities:Coordinate and oversee clinical assignments and student clinical experiences for the Nurse Aide Program.Monitor and evaluate student clinical skills development and reinforce adherence to approved competencies, program policies, and supervision requirements during clinical experiences.Maintain compliance with clinical facility requirements and appliable program and state standards. Service: Institutional and Professional Contributions:Attend faculty meetings and participate in committees that support the mission of the Nurse Aide program, the Health Sciences department, and the College, consistent with SP 3-31.Represent the college on internal committees, task forces, and community boards as requested by leadership.Support student recruitment efforts and divisional activities as requested.Support the maintenance of a program advisory committee to ensure industry and discipline relevance.Engage in professional development activities to stay current with discipline-specific trends and pedagogical advancements.Assist with department duties and participate in annual program assessment efforts as assigned. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Associate’s degree in Nursing from a nationally accredited institution. Current Colorado Registered Nurse (RN) License, or Multi-State compact RN License, in good standing and without restrictions. Currently possess or be able to obtain a Career Technical Education Endorsement in the Health Sciences and Nurse Aide Pathway. Have at least 2 years (4,000 hours) of nursing experience in caring for the elderly and/or the chronically ill of any age of which at least 1 year must be in the provision of services in a long-term care facility.Have completed a course in teaching adults (e.g., Train the Trainer) or have documented experience in teaching adults, or have one year of experience in managing nurse aides, consistent with Rule 1.11 coordinator qualifications.Ability to effectively navigate relevant technology, including online databases, excel, and learning management systems. Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers through the American Heart Association. PREFERRED QUALIFCIATIONS Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, or enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing program. BLS Instructor Certification through the American Heart Association.Previous higher education teaching or administrative experience. A minimum of one-year of nurse aide teaching experience.Teaching experience including skills-based testing and assessment. Experience working with clinical sites in the health science and nurse aide fields. Experience with data collection and reporting. Experience with program accreditation processes.Experience with curriculum development and revision.Experience with online teaching and Learning Management Systems. SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION Salary Range: Anticipated salary range is $66,449.98- $91,753.43 annually. This salary is determined by the qualifications of the selected candidate balanced with departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information.
