Job description

Overview

Since our founding in 1924, we have cut cardiovascular disease deaths in half, and we continue to advance health outcomes. We need passionate individuals to help overcome today’s biggest challenges and accelerate progress. We are hiring a Development Director in Orange Beach, AL. The Director will generate revenue for our Heart Ball and Leaders of Impact fundraising campaigns, including our signature Orange Beach Heart Ball event. This hybrid position requires a heavy in-person presence.

Responsibilities
  • Generate revenue by prospecting and securing local corporate sponsorship and individual donations, achieving revenue goals and building/maintaining relationships with partners and donors.
  • Build and maintain a pipeline of prospective corporate sponsors and donors by conducting research aligned with campaign goals and the Association’s mission.
  • Develop and present proposals and accompanying materials to secure revenue and volunteer engagement.
  • Recruit and manage executive volunteer leadership, volunteer committees, and day‑of‑the‑event volunteers.
  • Coordinate the event auction, leading volunteers to solicit auction items and prepare packages that raise funds.
  • Lead new individual membership for the Cor Vitae giving society, in partnership with fundraising staff, and plan regular engagement events for members.
  • Plan and implement events in collaboration with internal and external partners.
  • Work with the Communications Director to support and promote campaign communication plans.
Qualifications
  • 3 years of relevant experience in fundraising, sales, or related fields.
  • University/College degree or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to do daily local travel and some overnight trips as needed; requires reliable transportation.
  • Ability to lift and/or move large objects with appropriate assistance as required.
  • Basic knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Preferred Experience and Skills
  • Experience managing and cultivating high‑level leaders at the C‑Suite level.
  • Knowledge of corporate and community networks.
