Description
Position Summary: The program manager is responsible for the daily operations of the Jobs for Vets Gulf Coast Homeless Veterans' Reintegration Program (HVRP), serving veterans experiencing or at risk of homelessness in Mobile and Baldwin Counties. This position oversees program compliance and reporting, establishes and maintains relationships with potential employers, and provides direct oversight of program staff to ensure participants receive high-quality employment, training, and case management services.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Oversee day-to-day operations of the HVRP program, including reporting and compliance with DOL/VETS requirements.
• Establish and maintain relationships with potential employers, workforce development agencies, and training partners to identify job placement and training opportunities for participants.
• Supervise the employment specialist and outreach worker, guiding case management, outreach, and participant engagement.
• Monitor progress toward program goals, including enrollment, training completion, and placement targets, and adjust strategies as needed.
• Provide direct employment services to participants as needed, including employer engagement and program marketing.
• Travel to the Aletheia House administrative office in Birmingham to attend monthly meetings and ensure compliance.
• Ensure accurate and timely data entry into the VOPAR case management system and oversee participant outcome tracking, including follow-up reporting for up to 12 months after exit.
• Visit at least four new employers per month to introduce the program and establish relationships that can result in new employment opportunities.
• Document all services in a timely, complete, and clinically appropriate manner.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Veterans Services, Chief Growth and Impact Officer, or other members of the executive team.
Requirements
Position Requirements:
Bachelor's degree required; relevant experience, knowledge, and capabilities in workforce development, case management, or veteran services strongly preferred.
Affirmative effort will be made to recruit a candidate who is a veteran and/or experienced with HVRP or similar employment programs.
Experience managing federal or state grant-funded programs, including reporting and compliance, preferred.
Strong organizational and supervisory skills; self-motivated.
Excellent teamwork and relationship-building skills, particularly with employers and community partners.
Excellent problem-solving capabilities.
Good driving record; willingness to drive personal vehicle for local and regional travel; motor vehicle report required.
Travel:
This position requires local and regional travel throughout Mobile and Baldwin Counties to develop employer and community partnerships, and periodic travel to Birmingham for compliance meetings.
Must be willing to use and have your own personal transportation.
Mileage reimbursement for personal use of the vehicle is included.
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:00pm; occasional weekends and evenings
