Job description

SUMMARY

The Director of Development is responsible for developing strategy, managing and growing key fundraising programs in support of Grady Health System; building and maintaining relationships and ensuring effective stewardship of institutional and individual donors; representing the Grady Health Foundation in the community; and contributing as a member of the Grady Health Foundation leadership team.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

       Develop, manage and execute strategies to build and maintain a multi-channel major gifts program - to include individual, corporate and institutional/foundation donors. 

       Build and maintain a robust planned giving program and assist with the development of an endowment strategy. 

       Manage staff members responsible for carrying out all necessary functions of successful private and corporate foundation, individual and planned giving strategies and ensure effective and timely stewardship of all donors.

       Ensure that fundraising strategies focus on donor retention, increasing giving levels and building pipelines. 

       Establish relationships with Grady Health System leaders responsible for areas of donor interest to develop giving priorities and ensure that funds are used in a manner consistent with donor intent. 

       Represent the Foundation in the community in meetings and external events.

       Serve as a member of the Foundation leadership team.

       Serve as a staff liaison for the Foundation Board Development Committee.

Qualifications

       Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field of study

       Five (5) or more years of job-related experience including job-related experience in program development and grant writing for nonprofit organizations.

       Excellent oral and written communication skills.

       Demonstrated success managing a corporate foundation relations program.

       Excellent computer and technology skills required with preference for experience using Raisers Edge or other donor CRM platforms, including prospect research modules.

       Knowledge of the foundation corporate giving community.
