Job Purpose:


The Development Coordinator provides administrative and operational support to the development team to advance fundraising goals, donor engagement, corporate partnerships, and special events. This role works closely with the Chief Development Officer to ensure efficient coordination of development activities and stewardship initiatives that support families served by Ronald McDonald House Atlanta.


Working primarily with the Development team, the Development Coordinator will be exposed to all areas of fundraising including individual, corporate, and foundation giving. The position will offer a great opportunity to gain experience in donor management, prospect research, and project management. Key responsibilities include donor prospect research, stewardship activities, administrative projects, special events; and working closely with the Chief Development Officer and the development team to grow and retain our annual individual, corporate, community, and foundation donors. This position requires flexibility, excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong project management skills, attention to detail, high energy and a passion for Ronald McDonald House Atlanta and its mission.


Qualifications:


Ideal for candidates with a degree in Non-Profit Management, Business Administration, Public Relations, Communications, or a related field.
Ability to represent Ronald McDonald House Atlanta in a credible, effective manner.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, project management and problem-solving skills, organizational skills and time management skills.
Ability to think strategically.
Collaborative, team-oriented work style
Ability to work under pressure, meet multiple deadlines and multi-task.
Possess the following characteristics: compassion, tact, honesty, trustworthiness, flexibility, and professionalism.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Collaborate closely with the Chief Development Officer and other development team members to ensure alignment and smooth execution of initiatives.
Conduct in-depth research on individuals, corporations, and foundations to evaluate capacity, affinity, and inclination to give.
Research and identify potential corporate sponsorships and partnership opportunities.
Proactively identify new donor prospects through databases, news alerts, and wealth screening tools.
Maintain and update donor records in Blackbaud NXT to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
Help maintain donor contact lists and track outreach efforts in NXT.
Administrative tasks such as answering phones and scheduling meetings, with the goal of learning about the House's business and gaining experience in resource development.
Support donor engagement through personal phone calls or handwritten notes to acknowledge gifts and milestones.
Assist the Development team with donor mailings.
Support stewardship efforts with the Greater Atlanta McDonald's Owners/Operators Association, their stores, employees and customers.
Identify new strategies to engage, retain and upgrade donors.
Ensure proper donor recognition and exceptional donor stewardship.
Assist with execution of events, including cultivation and fundraisers benefiting Ronald McDonald House Atlanta, as needed.
Participate in outreach for fundraising events, including contacting past donors, sponsors, and community partners.
Contribute to the development and expansion of the Young Professionals program, including member research and outreach.
Other duties as assigned.


Other Functions:


Promote community awareness of Ronald McDonald House Atlanta and its programs.
Represent House at meetings and functions as designated by CEO and/or the Chief Development Officer in professional manner consistent with image and mission of the organization.
