*Applications only accepted from July 6 to July 8, 2026 at 5:00 pm.* The Climate Resilience and Sustainability Department of the Long Beach Community College District is seeking highly-qualified individuals to join our team as a Workforce Development Coordinator. Our department is located within the Division of Workforce and Economic Development with the mission of building a climate ready workforce. The incumbent will coordinate, organize and oversee the day-to-day operations of assigned Workforce Development grant and training programs; implement and assist in evaluating program and training plans, budgets, procedures and supporting program promotional materials; perform case management of student/participants from start to completion

We are looking for someone who has experience demonstrating organizational, administrative and communications skills, general knowledge about specific industries related to program areas and traditional and non-traditional student populations. Experience in an academic setting is highly desirable. Additionally, we are looking for someone who has obtained a Bachelor's Degree in public administration, social science or a closely related field and two (2) years of increasingly responsible experience in executing workforce development grant and training programs, particularly at community colleges, at least one (1) of which involves responsibilities for program planning, coordination, and implementation; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS The Workforce Development Coordinator organizes, oversees, and coordinates the day-to-day operations of assigned Workforce Development grants and training programs. Work requires demonstrated organizational, administrative and communications skills, general knowledge about specific industries related to program areas and traditional and non-traditional student populations.

Qualifications Education, Training and Experience: Bachelor's Degree in public administration, social science or a closely related field and two (2) years of increasingly responsible experience in executing workforce development grant and training programs, particularly at community colleges, at least one (1) of which involves responsibilities for program planning, coordination, and implementation; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Experience is evaluated on the basis of a verifiable 35 hour week, unless specified otherwise. Prorated part-time experience may be acceptable. Licenses; Certificates; Special Requirements: May require a valid California driver's license and the ability to maintain insurability under the District's vehicle insurance policy.
