TRISTAR is seeking a skilled System Administrator II to join our team and support the Tactical Air Control Party-Modernization (TACP-M) program. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development, integration, and sustainment of advanced defense systems. The successful candidate will work closely with both government and contractor teams to ensure seamless system performance, effective software and network configuration, and successful testing and troubleshooting.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide systems integration support, including software installation, configuration, testing, and troubleshooting of Tactical Transportable Gateway (TTG), Maneuver Gateway (MG), Deployable Communications Packages (DCP), and related tactical communication systems.
  • Support the development, engineering, integration, and validation of Mission Computers, tactical radios, Full Motion Video (FMV) receivers, thermal imaging systems, targeting devices, and other mission-critical equipment.
  • Develop technical documentation and provide hands-on instruction to warfighters, delivering operational guidance and training to ensure the effective use and sustainment of mission systems in field environments.

Requirements

  • Experience with Windows and Linux administration, TAK Server administration, Mobile Device Management (MDM), analog and digital communications, Docker, and L3Harris Falcon II and Falcon III tactical radio systems.
  • Experience with IT operations, troubleshooting, customer service, and Microsoft Windows environments.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with Red Hat Linux administration.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to government and contractor facilities as needed.
  • Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field preferred.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a CompTIA Security+ certification prior to the start date.
