Job description

Position: Network Administrator II
Location: 101 NW 4th Street, Evansville, IN, 47708
Duration: 3 months (Contract to hire)
US Citizenship or Green Card Required

Description:

Our client is currently seeking a qualified Network Branch Support Technician to join their team onsite in Evansville, IN and provide end-user support.
Duties and Responsibilities :
This role is expected to manage campus support and would have to travel to support branches around Evansville for branch networking support. This technician will be routing and switching primarily.
Job Duties:
Implementing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing computer and network systems. Responsible for setting up internet connections, establishing different types of networks and connecting them.
1. Designing and installing computer networks, connections, and cabling.
2. Troubleshooting computer software and hardware issues, system failures, and identifying roadblocks in the network.
3. Fixing problems in LAN infrastructure and testing and configuring software.
4. Maintaining and preparing hardware including peripheral devices.
5. Ensuring that the software is correctly installed and launching on computers.
6. Securing the computer network against cyber-attacks, installing antivirus software, and ensuring it is regularly updated.
7. Scheduling upgrades and maintenance without interrupting business workflow.
8. Suggesting the best equipment and programs and requesting new equipment if what's being currently used becomes unreliable.
9. Work with vendors to get needed equipment for the networks and systems.
10. Providing technical support for clients and end-users through various lines of communication.

Required Skills:
1. 3+ years of general network hands-on experience, including various network protocols.
2. 3+ years of Cisco networking experience including routing, switching, voice, and video.
3. Network tools handling and troubleshooting skills
4. Must be able to think analytically and use process of elimination to disprove potential causes of trouble conditions.
5. Ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of users and vendors
6. Must be able to carry items 50lbs and go check on systems in server closets.

 Must be onsite 5 days a week. travel to different sites locally possible 10% travel.
