Administrator of Career & Technical Education and Post-Secondary Programs
Purpose Statement
This position will provide leadership and oversight for the CTE teachers and programs in the implementation and maintenance of current CTE Programs and new CTE programs, oversee the management of the Perkins Grant, collecting data on CTE students' Individual Program of Study, data management of certifications, insure appropriate and all necessary records are kept, create presentations, purchase orders, travel/professional development, compiling and distributing materials and reports; and responding to inquiries from a variety of internal and external sources.
This position reports to the principal- Junction City High School.
Essential Functions
  • Provide logistical planning for professional learning opportunities for CTE staff that is aligned with CTE goals
  • Develop and maintain accountability for results by compiling data for certifications (e.g., career plan of study, employer-recognized certification and licensure, work-based learning, and internships, etc.)
  • Professional development of career academy staff meetings scheduled implementation of career academy activities and events.
  • Attend department and in-service meetings for conveying and gathering information required to perform duties.
  • Coordinate assigned projects and activities (e.g., proper distribution of materials to various departments, arrangements for conferences, meetings, travel requirements, personnel to proctor all exit assessments, etc.)
  • Maintain confidential documents (e.g., files and records, requisitions, assistive devices, etc.) for providing up-to-date reference and audit trail.
  • Manage inventory of supplies and materials (e.g., forms, office supplies, etc.) for ensuring items' availability.
  • Prepare various reports, correspondence, and other materials (e.g., including charts, graphs, spreadsheets, letters, memorandums, minutes, travel arrangement information, periodic and ad-hoc reports, etc.) to convey information, document activities, and provide written reference.
  • Aid with various career academy processes (e.g., appointments, staff meetings, parent meetings, scheduling calendar, etc.) to provide support for addressing department operations.
  • Respond to inquiries from various internal and external parties (e.g., advisory boards, formal partnerships, district staff, government agencies, other schools, public, students, etc.) to provide information, facilitate communication among parties, and provide direction.
  • Serve as contact for professionals (e.g., providing student demographic information, obtaining missing information, correcting inaccurate data, forming records, scheduling appointments, etc.) to implement necessary processes for the career academy.
  • Work collaboratively with Principal and CTE staff to complete the work of Junction City High School.
  • Evaluate all CTE instructors
  • Conduct post-secondary testing and interpret results to help students understand their aptitudes, abilities, and achievement, to include, but not limited to career assessments & inventories, coordinating preparation materials and classes for testing (ACT/ASPIRE/SAT/PSAT/ASVAB/KAP)
  • Attend/assist with school events.
  • Strive to communicate the positive aspects of our school, and its programs to the public in word and deed.
  • Be an active member of the professional learning community: student, committee, and staff meetings, as well as assist in early recognition and prevention of educational problems.
  • Maintain Post-Secondary Communication to the learning community, to include websites and social media.
  • Create and provide oversight for career and technology exploration programs and curriculums for grades 5-8
  • Serve as liaison: student, teacher, parent, administrator, and community.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the principal

Utilization of some resources from other work units is often required to perform the job's functions. There is a continual opportunity to have some impact on the organization's services.
Work Environment
The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: some lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling, some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling, and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally, the job requires 30%
sitting, 30% walking, and 40% standing. The position is performed in a generally hazard-free environment.
