Adjunct Faculty - Institute

Summary

Ensign College is searching for part-time Institute Teachers. Ideal candidates will have a love of young adults coming from all walks of life. We are looking for dedicated individuals to teach the gospel of Jesus Christ in a Christ centered, learner focused, and scripturally based way.

This position has no official end date. We invite you to apply at any time. We review applications every semester to help us fill vacancies for our classes. If we do not have an opening now, we will contact applicants as enrollment increases in this area.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's degree.

  • Proven teaching ability at the college level and an understanding of collaborative learning and competency-based instruction.

  • Excellent interpersonal, collaboration, administrative, organizational, writing, and computer skills.

  • Previous experience teaching with Seminary and Institute strongly preferred.

Job Functions:

  • Demonstrate outstanding scripture-teaching skills both face-to-face and online.

  • Teach students the doctrines and principles of the gospel as found in the scriptures and the words of the prophets.

  • Teach in a way that leads to understanding and edification.

  • Exhibit a testimony of the Savior and His restored gospel.

  • Use approved curriculum and materials.

  • Complete all required training (FERPA, Title IX, etc.)

  • Review all instructional materials (Teaching plans, syllabi, etc.)

  • Support our unique learning and teaching framework.

  • Plan,prepare fromand follow an approved course curriculum that includes measurableobjectivesfor each course taught.

  • Creates andmaintainsa suitable environment for learning.

  • Evaluate student learning using multiple means of assessment.

  • Maintain and submittimelyand detailed student grade records.

  • Maintain a typical teaching load of one tothree-semesterclasses as needed.

  • Attend one-on-ones and othermeetingsas necessary.

Requirements for Employment Eligibility:

  • Member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

  • Worthiness to hold and be worthy to hold a current temple recommend.

  • Receive clearance from the Church Educational System Ecclesiastical Clearance Office.

  • Strict adherence to company policies and procedures.

  • Commitment to bring about the purposes of Ensign College.
