Job description

Operations Manager

VG Systems, LLC is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to provide direct operational support to the Government Program Manager on a Department of Defense (DoD) contract. The Operations Manager serves as the primary interface for day-to-day operations, coordinating resources, managing workflow, and ensuring efficient execution of tasks to meet project milestones and customer deadlines.

This role requires hands-on operational leadership, the ability to manage multiple teams across geographically dispersed locations, and a strong focus on production performance and customer satisfaction.

Physical Work Requirements:

This position requires on-site presence in Huntsville, AL.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide direct operational support to the Government Program Manager, serving as the primary interface for daily activities and production performance.
  • Manage VIPC-type business and production operations across multiple geographic locations.
  • Provide daily supervision and direction to multiple teams and disciplines supporting contract requirements.
  • Coordinate workforce staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation to ensure adequate coverage and timely execution of tasks.
  • Adapt to rapidly changing requirements and short-response timelines supporting multiple customers and senior leaders.
  • Implement management policies and operating practices to support efficient operations.
  • Provide workflow oversight, assess task requirements, and assign work to the most appropriate resources based on skillset and efficiency.
  • Manage consumable material ordering and tracking in accordance with established processes and audit-readiness requirements.
  • Serve as a customer-facing point of contact for operational questions and issue resolution.
  • Attend planning meetings and communicate requirements necessary for effective planning and execution.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in any discipline.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience providing daily supervision and direction to VIPC-type design and production teams across multiple geographic locations, including support of stakeholder requirements.
  • Associate's degree in any discipline with 15 years of relevant experience, or high school diploma plus at least one year of related college coursework with 20 years of relevant experience may substitute for the experience requirement.
  • Active Top Secret (TS) clearance at time of hire with the ability to maintain eligibility.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex operations in fast-paced environments.
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.

Technical Skills:

  • Experience with IT support and technologies, including computer configuration, network infrastructure, and SAN/NAS systems, using technologies such as Jamf Pro and Apple Business Manager (ABM).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe software suites.
  • Working knowledge of Apple and Windows operating systems.
