Operations Manager – Moulton, AL

Lunova Group is partnering with a global manufacturing leader to identify an Operations Manager for their facility in Moulton, Alabama. While this opportunity is ideal for experienced operations leaders, we also encourage high-potential manufacturing professionals with engineering and leadership experience to apply. If you've successfully led people and are ready to take the next step into broader plant leadership, we'd love to hear from you.

This individual will serve as the primary operational leader on-site, overseeing daily plant performance, championing a culture of safety, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and supporting the ongoing growth of the operation.

This role is ideal for a hands-on manufacturing leader who thrives in a dynamic environment, enjoys building strong teams, and can balance accountability with a positive, people-focused culture. Whether your background is in operations, manufacturing engineering, maintenance, or quality, success in this role comes from strong leadership, technical problem-solving, and a passion for continuous improvement.

Why Join the Team?

Our client is a global leader in industrial manufacturing, serving critical industries across North America and around the world. This is an opportunity to join a stable, growing organization that values operational excellence, employee development, and continuous improvement.

The Operations Manager will have significant visibility within the organization and play an important role in shaping site culture, operational performance, and future growth initiatives. You'll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact while working alongside experienced leaders in a collaborative environment, with room to continue growing your career.

About the Role

The Operations Manager will lead day-to-day plant operations and maintenance activities, acting as the primary operational leader on-site. This individual must be comfortable making decisions, driving accountability, and partnering closely with leadership to achieve business objectives.

Safety is a core value and a foundational responsibility of this role. The Operations Manager will foster a culture where safe behaviors, proactive risk identification, and continuous improvement are embedded in every aspect of the operation.

We're looking for someone who is eager to grow into a broad operational leadership role. Depending on your background, you'll have the opportunity to leverage your technical expertise while expanding your responsibilities across production, maintenance, continuous improvement, and plant performance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily operations across production and maintenance
  • Serve as the primary operational leader, making sound decisions that support business objectives
  • Champion a safety-first culture where safety is treated as a core value and integrated into all operational activities
  • Drive performance across key metrics including safety, quality, productivity, delivery, and cost
  • Own plant KPIs, budgeting, and efficiency improvement initiatives
  • Implement and sustain Lean manufacturing practices (6S experience preferred)
  • Provide leadership and direction to plant personnel
  • Establish clear expectations, accountability, and performance standards across the team
  • Support and develop supervisors, team leads, and frontline employees
  • Improve communication and coordination across shifts and departments
  • Partner with maintenance to ensure equipment reliability, preventive maintenance execution, and maximum uptime
  • Support capital projects, equipment installations, and operational improvement initiatives
  • Help develop the systems, processes, and team capabilities needed to support future growth

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical discipline is required.
  • Approximately 5-10 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Demonstrated leadership experience through direct people management or by leading engineering teams, maintenance, quality, production, or continuous improvement initiatives
  • Experience in heavy manufacturing, metals, industrial products, process manufacturing, or similar production environments is preferred
  • Strong technical problem-solving skills and a passion for continuous improvement
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar operational excellence methodologies (6S preferred)
  • Experience managing KPIs, improving processes, increasing equipment reliability, or driving operational performance
  • Experience supporting capital projects, equipment installations, facility expansions, or commissioning activities is highly preferred
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build trust and influence across all levels of the organization
  • A hands-on leadership style with the ambition to continue growing into broader operational responsibility
  • Strong commitment to building and sustaining a world-class safety culture

Ready for Your Next Step?

Whether you're an experienced Operations Manager or an engineer, maintenance leader, quality manager, or manufacturing supervisor looking to expand your responsibilities, this is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a growing manufacturing operation.
