Mission

To lead Cook's Building Supply's rebar fabrication operation with discipline, urgency, and accountability—ensuring production stays on schedule, equipment remains operational, employees work safely, and customers receive quality products on time. This role is responsible for creating a high-performing operation through strong leadership, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.


Outcomes

Build a Reliable, High-Performing Operation

• Develop and execute a preventative maintenance program that achieves 95%+ equipment and fleet uptime within the first six months.

• Maintain equipment reliability through proactive maintenance planning and coordination.

• Minimize downtime while maximizing production capacity.


Deliver Consistent On-Time Production

• Establish production performance benchmarks during the first month.

• Improve on-time production performance through measurable reductions in late orders.

• Ensure production schedules are met while maintaining quality standards.

 

Improve Operational Efficiency

• Optimize production workflows utilizing ASA software.

• Increase throughput while reducing production bottlenecks.

• Improve output per labor hour through continuous process improvements.

• Identify and eliminate waste throughout the fabrication process.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the daily operations of the rebar fabrication shop.

• Plan, prioritize, and oversee production schedules.

• Manage hiring, coaching, scheduling, and employee development.

• Ensure OSHA and company safety compliance.

• Develop and manage preventative maintenance programs.

• Utilize ASA software to monitor production and operations.

• Monitor productivity, labor utilization, quality, and operational metrics.

• Collaborate with sales, estimating, purchasing, and leadership.

 

Required Experience & Skills

• Minimum 4 years of experience in rebar fabrication operations.

• Minimum 2 years of supervisory or management experience.

• Strong understanding of rebar fabrication processes and production scheduling.

• Experience using ASA software or ability to become proficient quickly.

• Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills.

 

Preferred (Nice-to-Have)

• Structural steel, precast concrete, or heavy metal fabrication experience.

• Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement experience.

• OSHA safety leadership experience.
