Job description

A specialty manufacturing company in central North Carolina is seeking a Production Manager to lead operators and shift teams in a fast-paced, growth-driven plant environment. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys variety, problem-solving, and being close to the equipment and the people running it.
Production Manager Responsibilities
- Oversee 9-12 direct reports across 3 shifts
- Build and manage shift schedules across multiple phases of production
- Partner closely with maintenance teams to keep equipment running and minimize downtime
- Support quality control by monitoring in-process parameters and upholding consistent standards
- Lead and develop operators and shift leads across a growing team
- Contribute to the planning and installation of new production capacity
- Support an ongoing initiative to automate and modernize existing equipment
- Troubleshoot day-to-day production issues to keep operations moving smoothly
Production Manager Requirements
- 5 to 10 years of experience in production management within a medium to heavy manufacturing environment such as chemicals, pharma, food, or beverage
- Working knowledge of one or more industrial processes such as distillation, separation, extraction, HVAC, blending, packaging, or drying
- Strong quality mindset and drive to maintain high standards
- Interest and experience working on the floor, not just behind a desk
- Experience managing production schedules
