The Production Assistant supports the daily operations of the manufacturing team by coordinating production schedules, maintaining production records, tracking inventory, and assisting with order processing. This role works closely with the branch manager, field/inside supervisor, warehouse personnel, and CDL drivers to ensure metal roofing panels are manufactured accurately, efficiently, and delivered on time.
The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
What You’ll Do:
  • Monitor inventory levels.
  • Coordinate with Branch Manager and Field/Inside Supervisor ensure materials are available for scheduled production.
  • Assist with inventory counts and maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Report material shortages or discrepancies promptly.
  • Review customer orders for accuracy and completeness before production.
  • Coordinate with Sales, and drivers to ensure orders are completed according to customer specifications and delivery schedules.
  • Assist with processing order changes and production updates.
  • Maintain production records, reports, and documentation.
  • Prepare daily production reports and performance metrics.
  • File completed work orders, quality inspection records, and production documents.
  • Assist with data entry and general administrative tasks for the production department.
  • Support quality assurance processes by ensuring production documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Assist with tracking quality inspections and corrective actions.
  • Follow company safety policies and manufacturing procedures.
  • Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe production environment.
  • Work closely with managers, supervisor, warehouse staff, and drivers.
  • Communicate production schedules and updates across departments.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Perform other production and administrative duties as assigned.
