General Purpose:

This role involves converting functional requirements for product development into a structured format using rules within an object-oriented pricing system.

Essential Functions:

  • Define configuration models to establish the universe of valid products and their features, options, and pricing model codes.
  • Define, maintain, and execute a pricing control process that governs all changes to the pricing model and data.
  • Build and enhance relationships between Product Information Management (PIM), Engineering Modelers and Product Pricing team.
  • Assure synchronization between prices in dealers' order specification tools and Herman Miller's legacy systems.
  • Document and manage pricing issues, including clear definition, root cause analysis, and remedial action planning to correct and prevent recurrence.
  • Provide inquiry response and error correction support to Sales Technology Support, Customer Care, Product Marketing, and other customer-serving groups.
  • Manage small projects as needed.
  • Ensure Sarbanes-Oxley compliance and documentation.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a scientific discipline or related field.
  • 3 years of experience as a modeler and/or training in IT, Finance, or a logic-based discipline, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Advanced understanding of modeling, relational database structures, and reporting.
  • Experience with product specification structures and software packages, including a basic understanding of modeling software.
  • Exposure to general concepts used in product marketing and product pricing.
  • Understanding of mass customization and configuration processes.
  • Well-developed leadership, conceptual, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated resourceful problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of Herman Miller's order entry and order management process (preferred).
  • Knowledge of Herman Miller corporate products (preferred).
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively use office automation, communication software, and tools currently used in the Herman Miller office environment.
