Job Description:

We are searching for the best talent for a Sr. Manager, MedTech Technology Product Lifecycle Management Platform professional to be located in Raritan, NJPosition Summary

The individual in this role owns the vision, strategy, and prioritization of the PLM platform level features to meet business and technical needs. Enable platform and product squads by driving technical delivery and value realization for MedTech Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) globally.

As part of the MedTech R&D Product Lifecycle domain, this role will work with business owners, product management, portfolio partners, architecture and suppliers in PLM and digitally connected domains to align the direction and solution intent while managing a multi-million-dollar budget.

This person will drive business value & outcomes related to MedTech R&D PLM solutions and connected digital capabilities to enhance capabilities, insights, business process and automations for the MedTech sector wide PLM platform.

This individual will deeply understand user needs and expected business value, delivering solutions that unlock efficiency and drive progress against critical metrics to improve MedTech R&D, specifically in the domain of R&D PLM.

Major Duties & Responsibilities
  • Visionary leader primarily response for platform/product strategy and ensure business value realization and outcomes
  • Own end-to-end platform lifecycle activities including technical leadership driving the vision, strategy, prioritization, delivery, performance management for the platform, including Production Operations processes and services.
  • Enable AI-driven and data-centric lifecycle processes across the ecosystem
  • Ensure scalability, reliability, and standardization and reduce fragmentation across OpCos / legacy systems
  • Cross-Functional alignment (product, Architecture, portfolio) and collaborate with Product Owners and Product/Platform Architects to build a technical backlog that optimizes business value in partnership with supporting teams
  • Work in close partnership with the Platform Architect and technology counterparts to manage cross-team dependencies in roadmaps and backlog, refine technical backlog by leveraging product roadmaps and by anticipating functional and non-functional requirements while balancing business value and technical feasibility, cost and delivery timelines
  • Strong vendor management and partnership with our suppliers and act as the expert in the field understanding latest tech trends in the space of PLM
  • Drive the interaction model between the product & platform teams for short-, medium- and long-term business and technical needs. Maintain clear cadences, standards and best practices to ensure clarity and agreement of decision rights leading to empowered teams working with minimal friction.
  • Ensure the PLM platform fits into the broader Enterprise Architecture guidelines and standards, e.g., APIs, security controls, approved technologies, data standards, etc. and maintain leading expertise on tech capabilities relevant to the platform
  • Drive selection of platform solutions, e.g., CloudX strategy, including build vs. buy decision. Collaborate with Lead Engineers on the architecture of critical capabilities & solutions which balance constraints such as resiliency, cost, quality and time.
  • Manage effort to build financial budgets and resource plans based on solution objectives, key deliverables and timing
  • Accountable for PLM System Change Control, Risk Management Processes and related IT Procedures across the platform and products
  • Drive continuous improvement across the platform and products through automation, insights & metrics, best practices, and coaching Product Owner & Product Managers on platform consumption best practices ensuring consistency across the platforms
  • Engage in an Office Operations role to process onboarding and off-boarding of stable team resources. Implement necessary ISRM, GxP, SOX, Asset mgmt. and other (compliance) control processes.
  • Manages a team of individual contributors and/or Supervisors and is accountable for conducting effective performance management.
  • Responsible for on-call on and off business hour rotations, lead incident triage and restoration, and drive root-cause analysis with corrective and preventive actions
Qualifications:

Experience and Education:

  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, preferably in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, Engineering or related field highly preferred
  • 10+ years performing progressively advanced duties as specified below

Skills:

  • Expert in applicable domain/products and in the tech stack used within the J&J PLM domain, principally with PTC Windchill and ThingWorx
  • Expert in Product Development and Manufacturing business processes including the application of software solutions to solve business problems and accelerate new product introduction.
  • Demonstrable experience leading teams of employees and/or contractors, including goal setting and career development
  • Demonstrable experience leading multiple global efforts with time & cost related constraints in a fast-paced regulated environment
  • Experienced in software product development lifecycle, leading a product backlog, managing release plans, removing blockers and leading teams operating in the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
  • Strong facilitation, collaboration & influencing skills; ability to form relationships, empower and collaborate at all levels in the organization and interact optimally across the regional and global organization
  • Proven track record to tackle problems head on and think creatively about technology solutions to execute against a business or program need providing technology and resource estimates and plans.
  • Strong commitment to continuous process improvement
  • Experience in vendor management, and creating technology product vision and strategies
  • Experience in building and integrating products with platform, data management, API architecture/design, and Cloud Native technologies
  • Experience engineering products over their lifecycle in a multi-team / channel context

$122,000 - $211,025
