Job description

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Manager to lead two critical and complementary functions within Business Technology: IT Product Management and IT Software Asset Management. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for bridging the gap between Business Technology (BT) capabilities and business needs - ensuring internal technology systems are managed with product rigor and adopted effectively across the organization. You will directly manage a team of Business Technology Product Managers and Asset Management Lead/Specialists, bringing structure, strategic alignment, and operational excellence to both disciplines. This role reports to the Head of Business Technology.
We work Flexible First. This role can be performed remotely in the United States, only in one of our National locations, which you can review here.
This position is both for an existing and non-existing vacancy.
The Impact You'll Have
Product Strategy & Roadmap
  • Define and maintain the product vision, strategy, and prioritized roadmap for internal business applications (e.g., ERP, CRM, HRIS) and enterprise systems.
  • Partner with business owners to understand functional requirements, pain points, and technology investment priorities.
  • Act as the business owner proxy for internal BT systems - managing backlogs of features, defects, and enhancements.
  • Define and track product metrics in partnership with relevant stakeholders and conduct ongoing analysis to measure performance, usage, and business value realization of deployed systems.

Demand Management
  • Design and lead the Plan and Commit process with business stakeholders for all BT technology requests.
  • Define criteria for prioritizing BT projects and enhancements based on strategic alignment, risk reduction, ROI, and operational impact.
  • Publish and maintain a visible backlog providing stakeholders transparency into queue status, estimated effort, and delivery timelines.
  • Forecast and allocate BT resources (personnel, budget) across the prioritized portfolio of projects and operational enhancements.
  • Partner with BT Strategy & Operations to establish product governance mechanisms including Steering Committees.

Organizational Change Management (OCM)
  • Define and maintain a standardized Organizational Change Management (OCM) playbook and governance for all Business Technology (BT)-led initiatives.
  • Lead change management strategy, stakeholder analysis, and impact assessments for all major system implementations and upgrades in partnership with relevant stakeholders.
  • Establish and track system adoption metrics, stabilization plans, and 'lessons learned' processes to ensure business value realization post-deployment.

IT Product Delivery
  • Oversee QA and UAT processes to ensure systems meet business requirements before deployment.
  • Participate in sprint demos and provide feedback to ensure development meets defined acceptance criteria.
  • Own and maintain the BT release calendar, coordinating deployment windows to minimize business disruption and risks.
  • Establish hypercare programs for major system go-lives, including elevated incident SLAs and daily status check-ins during stabilization.
  • Develop Business Systems PM competencies across the BT organization to ensure consistent and high-quality product practices across the BT organization.

SaaS Sprawl Management
  • Lead and govern the end-to-end software asset lifecycle management program (procurement through disposal).
  • Establish centralized SaaS intake and approval processes to prevent shadow IT and ensure alignment with the future-state technology landscape.
  • Drive cost-reduction and optimization through regular license audits, contract consolidation, and the sunsetting of tools that do not meet architectural standards.
  • Create comprehensive software asset management metrics, dashboards and reporting to support executive decision making and drive continuous improvement.

Team Leadership & Organizational Development
  • Set a clear team vision and operating model that scales as Marqeta's internal technology landscape grows.
  • Build, mentor, and lead high-performing IT teams across multiple, creating career growth opportunities and holding the bar for quality and delivery.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner closely with peer BT leaders and cross-functional business stakeholders to drive cohesive business outcomes.
Who You Are
  • 10+ years of experience in IT/business systems product management, or a related discipline with 5+ years of experience in people management.
  • Demonstrated experience owning end-to-end product strategy and delivery for internal enterprise systems (ERP, CRM, Enterprise AI, or similar).
  • A hands-on Product Manager with a strong background in IT product management, demonstrating successful career progression into a product leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of SaaS governance, software asset management, and IT financial management best practices.
  • Strong understanding to define and execute a comprehensive Enterprise AI strategy, encompassing use case prioritization, organizational rollout, and business value measurement.
  • Proven track record establishing or scaling operational practices within a technology organization.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills - able to align business and technology partners at all levels.
  • Strong analytical mindset with experience defining and tracking KPIs across both product and operational domains.
  • Experience leading and developing high-performing teams and ability to effectively collaborate with a global team.
  • Excellent verbal, communication, and presentation skills to effectively communicate product strategy to both senior business leaders and stakeholders.
Nice-To-Haves
  • Experience at a high-growth technology company.
  • Experience with Enterprise AI strategy, rollout plans, and business value measurement.
  • Familiarity with ITAM frameworks and ITSM/ITAM platforms.
  • Experience leading organizational change management initiatives tied to major system deployments.
  • Exposure to ARB processes and enterprise architecture governance.
  • Background in demand management and portfolio governance within a BT or IT function.
Typical Process
  • Application Submission
  • Recruiter phone call
  • Hiring manager video call
  • Virtual "Onsite" consisting of 4-5, 45-60 min calls
  • Offer!
