Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) Manager

Boeing Global Services (BGS) Government Training Engineering (GTE) is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) Manager to join the PLM organization in St. Louis, MO.
Reporting to the GTE PLM Senior Manager, this role will lead a team responsible for all Configuration and Data Management activities across the Government Training Vertical Lift (VL) and Mobility, Surveillance & Bombers (MS&B) portfolios. The key platforms supported by this position include AH-64, CH-47, MH-139, P-8, C-17, and KC-46.
This position is responsible for planning and managing all aspects of configuration and data management, including identification, change and variance management, verification and audits, data management, delivery scheduling for all CDRLs and non-CDRLs, delivery tracking and coordination, performance-to-plan management, customer delivery execution, and release of drawings, models, and documentation.
The manager will also be responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships and partnerships with program managers, customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, and direct reports, while providing oversight and approval of technical approaches, products, and processes. In addition, this role is responsible for developing, coaching, and motivating employees to support team and organizational objectives.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Use a variety of media, clearly conveys information and ideas to individuals or groups in a manner that engages the audience and helps them understand and retain the message.
  • Manage a team performing engineering and technical activities in the areas of Engineering Product Lifecycle
  • Coach, counsel, mentor and provide developmental opportunities and job assignments to enhance employee performance and expand capabilities
  • Develops and completes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals
  • Monitors appropriate metrics to ensure performance to plan
  • Acquire resources for projects and processes, provide technical management of suppliers and lead process improvements
  • Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with customers, collaborators, peers, partners and direct reports
  • Provide oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes
  • Manage technical baselines, to include specifications, configuration, design and certification/verification
  • Lead productivity improvement and cost reduction initiatives in collaboration with engineering capabilities
  • Provide strategic guidance and expertise for the development, analysis, management and compliance verification of process and product baselines of highly integrated complex products
  • Strategically integrate the definition and allocation of Configuration Management and Data Management requirements
  • Ensure workgroup products or processes meet customer, company, quality, industry and regulatory requirements
  • Lead programs in the operational implementation of industry level standards, processes, systems and tools for Configuration and Data Management
  • Provide strategic guidance for the Configuration and Data Management tool requirements consistent with best practice processes

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Candidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course "Exploring Leadership
  • Bachelor degree or Higher
  • 5+ Years of experience in Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) (Configuration Management, Data Management)
  • Experience in data management and/or configuration management and processing
  • Experience leading a technical team on a development and/or production program
  • Strong presentation skills and the ability to effectively communicate data in Senior Leadership briefings

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement.
  • Prior experience in aerospace, defense, or highly regulated industries with exposure to certification, quality, and data-marking requirements.
  • Familiarity with PLM environments (e.g., Dassault Systèmes 3D Experience, Windchill, CMPRO, Teamcenter/IPDM, DCAC) and MBSE concepts.
  • Experience in SAFe Agile methodologies and leadership having a clear understanding of scrum structure and roles such as business owner, product owner, and scrum master.
  • Experience with related PLM tools such as CSDT, REDARS, ADADs, etc.
