Job Description

Supports Development agenda of strategic and business planning, product development, mergers & acquisitions, strategic alignment of DSC’s businesses and various projects.

Supports DHL Supply Chain NORAM businesses by (1) providing advanced support (process, tools, facilitation, and challenge) for strategic/business planning and acquisition/strategic relationship activities, (2) working closely with sector leads on day-to-day basis providing strategic perspective and, if agreed, assist in delivery of critical business plan initiatives, and (3) defining, assessing, and developing strategic products for deployment in the NORAM businesses.

ResponsibilitiesStrategic/Business Planning
  • Develop/enhance and facilitate implementation of the business planning process.
  • Assist division and sector teams in developing strategies and business plans.
  • Lead/assist division and/or sector teams in completing agreed key strategic actions.
  • Monitor strategic progress and facilitate successful completion of targeted actions.
Product Development
  • Define, assess, and develop products that will accelerate NORAM revenue and profit growth.
  • Lead the development of advanced systematic processes to manage product development, from idea creation to delivery and ongoing performance monitoring.
Strategic Relationships
  • Manage acquisition and partnering strategies/objectives
  • Identify and vet target companies that increase the scope and scale of DSC’s capabilities, including industry domain experts, consultancies, and financial advisory firms.
  • Support establishment and growth of strategic partnerships.
Mergers & Acquisitions
  • Identify potential acquisition targets
  • Assist with modeling and valuation
  • Lead due diligence process
  • Preparing projects papers and presentations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience
  • Undergraduate degree in Business, English, Logistics or related field, required
  • MBA, preferred
  • 7+ years of experience with real supply chain issues for company(s) in one of our sectors, required
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in at least one of the following: strategic planning/analysis, account management, or acquisitions/strategic partnerships required
  • Experience as a management consultant or investment banker or working in a strategic role in supply chain function, preferred
