Job description

Engineered Materials Solutions is seeking a skilled Product/Parts Engineer to join our manufacturing team. 

Position Summary:

Provide direct Product Engineering function and technical support to clad metal stamped products and assemblies.

Responsibilities:
  • Assume technical responsibility for a portfolio of clad thermostat metal products. 
  • Responsible for internal and out-going product quality.  Champion root cause / corrective action analyses.  Analyze quality trends and identify/execute continuous improvement programs.
  • Identify and implement quality, cost reduction, and continuous improvement programs to eliminate waste and/or improve yields.
  • Interface with all levels of the organization from direct support of manufacturing operators to upper levels of management.
  • Timely support of manufacturing operations and personnel to resolve production and quality issues.
  • Apply sound engineering judgment based on statistical analysis of data and fact to solve complex material, process capability, and equipment problems.
  • Interface with external customers in support of production problems, application problems, and new business opportunities.  Make sales calls with Field Representative in support of customers and new business opportunities.
  • Support commercial team with technical evaluation of new business opportunities, product costing, sampling, process development, and production startup.
  • Manage multiple tasks and priorities in a very diverse and dynamic manufacturing environment.

Education and Experience:

  • BSME/MSME and 3 to 5 years related experience is required
  • Experience with high volume progressive die stamping and part production processes is a must.
  • Knowledge of common metal processing and manufacturing techniques such as welding, soldering, brazing, plating is preferred.  
  • Working knowledge of SolidWorks or similar design software is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of strip metal processing and material science is beneficial.
  • Demonstrate the ability to solve very complex product quality and process problems. 
  • Good business knowledge and the ability to understand and improve product quality and manufacturing costs. 
  • Excellent written and verbal skills are required.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work in and manage multiple tasks in a highly diverse and dynamic manufacturing environment.
