deciBel Research has an immediate opening for a Configuration Manager in Huntsville, AL.

Position Description:

deciBel Research is seeking a Configuration Manager to support a dynamic engineering organization responsible for developing complex technical solutions. In this role, you will serve as the focal point for configuration management, technical documentation, and contractual deliverables, ensuring products are accurately controlled, documented, and delivered in accordance with customer requirements and organizational quality standards.

This position is ideal for a highly organized professional who enjoys working across multiple disciplines, managing competing priorities, and helping engineering teams deliver high-quality work products in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Manage version-controlled repositories for engineering products and associated documentation.
  • Coordinate the preparation, review, approval, and delivery of contractual data items and program deliverables.
  • Partner with software engineers, technical leads, project managers, cybersecurity, quality assurance, and program management to ensure deliverables meet contractual, technical, and quality requirements.
  • Track deliverable schedules, configuration changes, and baseline status throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Prepare Configuration Management metrics, status reports, and documentation for internal and customer reviews.
  • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve Configuration Management plans, procedures, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and work instructions.
  • Interface with customers to coordinate the submission and distribution of approved deliverables and technical documentation.
  • Support internal and external Configuration Management audits and ensure compliance with organizational quality standards.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements that increase efficiency, traceability, and consistency across engineering activities.

Education Requirements:

A Bachelor's degree in a technical, business, or related field from an accredited college.

Experience Requirements:

  • 1 to 5 years of experience as a Configuration Manager in a DoD or aerospace engineering program.
  • Experience in configuration planning and management, identification, control, status accounting, verification, and audits.
  • Experience in maintaining and updating documentation using basic publication standards.
  • Experience in one or more configuration management tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to ensure deliverables are developed, controlled and distributed on time.

Special Skills Desired:

  • Hands-on experience with SharePoint Online, Microsoft Office 365
  • Ability to program workflows with Microsoft Power Automate
  • Highly process oriented with follow-through.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills along with the ability to understand and communicate technically
  • Strong social skills, and ability to build solid relationships with team members.
