Job description

Purpose:
The ideal candidate will have a passion for cross collaboration and problem solving utilizing mathematical and technological capabilities. The candidate should have the desire and ability to understand the underlying mechanics and processes associated with an Annuity and similar products throughout their life cycle. This candidate will be responsible for the design, coding, configuration, unit testing, and implementation of new product propositions within the Athene applications, primarily ALIP (Accenture Life Insurance Platform) policy administration system.
Accountabilities:
  • Configure, maintain, and enhance annuity product rules, workflows, and transactions within ALIP and related administration systems.
  • Translate business and product requirements into technical solutions while following established development standards and best practices.
  • Develop, test, troubleshoot, and deploy application changes using Agile and DevOps tools (e.g., GitHub, Jenkins) to support reliable software releases.
  • Partner with Product, QA, Operations, and Technology teams to deliver high-quality solutions, resolve production issues, and improve system performance.
  • Develop automation and process improvements that increase efficiency, enhance data quality, and support policy administration processes.
  • Contribute to sprint commitments, peer code reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives while building expertise in annuity products and policy administration.

Qualifications and Experience:
  • 4+ years of application development, configuration, or systems experience within insurance, financial services, or relevant experience.
  • Experience with policy administration systems (ALIP preferred), SQL/database queries, and one or more programming languages such as Java, Python, C++, SQL, XML, or Visual Basic.
  • Experience working in Agile environments using tools such as Jira, Confluence, GitHub, or Jenkins.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills, with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues and translate business requirements into system solutions.
  • Experience using AI tools to improve productivity, code development, documentation, analysis, and workflow efficiency while applying sound judgment to validate AI-generated outputs.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
