Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings - carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Role Purpose

Ensures timely procurement of materials, equipment, and services to support manufacturing needs while optimizing cost and supply availability.

What You'll Do

  • Manage procurement of assigned materials and services.
  • Issue POs, track deliveries, expedite orders, and resolve invoice issues.
  • Maintain vendor records and support new supplier setup.
  • Work with Operations and Business teams on sourcing strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with Global Buying Policies.
  • Manage supplier relationships and performance.
  • Maintain contracts, pricing agreements, and related documentation.
  • Support supplier audits, reviews, and corrective actions.
  • Resolve material quality issues with internal teams.
  • Track supplier performance (quality, cost, delivery, lead time).
  • Protect company intellectual property.

Qualifications

  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to work independently or in teams.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience managing suppliers and negotiations.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree with 3+ years of experience.
  • Supply Chain, Business, or Engineering background preferred.
  • Experience in purchasing, commodity management, or project management.
  • Familiarity with ERP/MES systems preferred.
  • Supply chain certification (CPSM, CPIM) preferred.

Travel Requirements

  • 5-10% travel to suppliers and company sites for audits, reviews, and training.

The range for this position is $69,318.00 - $95,313.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
