Position Overview
The Global Category Manager - Contact Lens Procurement is responsible for managing and coordinating strategic sourcing, contracting, and category activities for internal direct and external manufacturing, supporting the contact lens business unit.
Responsibilities
  • Provide global category leadership for Contact Lenses across internal and external manufacturing to ensure continuity of supply, quality performance, and value delivery.
  • Category strategy & governance: Develop and maintain category strategies and sourcing roadmaps aligned to business priorities; lead stakeholder governance and standardization efforts across surgical sites.
  • Strategic sourcing & contracting: Lead end-to-end RFx events (requirements, RFx, bid analysis, supplier selection, negotiation, and contracting) to deliver best total value (cost, quality, service, technology, risk, and compliance).
  • Value delivery: Identify, prioritize, implement, and track savings and cost-avoidance initiatives in collaboration with stakeholders and finance controllers.
  • Supplier performance: Manage key supplier relationships; define and monitor KPIs and contractual commitments; drive continuous quality, service, and cost improvement.
  • Stakeholder partnership: Translate business needs into clear requirements; influence leaders to engage Procurement as a strategic partner; communicate progress, decisions, and outcomes.
  • Market intelligence & analytics: Maintain global spend visibility; conduct market screening and benchmarking; use insights to improve sourcing decisions and procurement best practices.
  • Risk & continuity: Monitor supply risk and lead mitigation actions, including business cases and execution for second-source/dual-source projects when required

Qualifications
Education
  • Bachelor's degree with related experience required.
  • Advanced degree (MS or MBA) or professional certifications such as CPM or CPIM preferred.

Experience
  • Minimum of 7+ years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management.
  • Proven track record of negotiating complex supplier contracts and commercial agreements.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage supplier relationships, drive cost savings, and mitigate supply risk preferred.
  • Experience managing supplier relationships, including performance monitoring through metrics, scorecards, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Ability to develop and execute procurement strategies across both direct and indirect spend categories.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to assess risk, identify opportunities, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects, manage competing deadlines, and operate with a sense of urgency.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities in a fast-paced environment.

For U.S. locations that require disclosure of compensation, the starting pay for this role is between $109,000.00 and $160,000.00. The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors.
U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/or long-term incentives. They may also be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, disability and life insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, a tuition reimbursement program (select degrees), company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others. U.S. based employees are also eligible to receive sick time, floating holidays and paid vacation.
