Safety Management Systems (SMS) Site Process Manager
Brunswick, GA (with occasional travel to Savannah)

What You Will Do

  • Lead site-specific SMS operational planning, coordination, and execution in alignment with Corporate SMS strategy
  • Partner with site leadership and regulatory agencies to ensure full compliance with SMS requirements
  • Drive risk identification, assessment, and mitigation strategies to prevent injury and asset damage
  • Conduct and support quality and safety investigations; coach and mentor new investigators
  • Collect, analyze, and present safety and operational data to identify trends and root causes
  • Develop and implement preventative strategies and corrective actions
  • Oversee reporting systems for aircraft/equipment damage and personal injury events
  • Ensure timely resolution of audit findings and continuous process improvement
  • Develop and deliver SMS training to ensure workforce understanding and engagement
  • Monitor regulatory and industry developments to enhance SMS practices
  • Lead internal safety reviews and support safety-related initiatives across the site
  • Collaborate with enterprise safety teams and represent the Brunswick site in cross-site forums

What You Will Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Safety, Human Factors, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 6 years of experience in airworthiness programs, aviation safety, or human factors/training environments
  • Strong background in investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action development
  • Experience with SMS programs, occurrence reporting systems, and regulatory compliance

Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Aviation Safety, Human Factors, or related field required or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. 6 years of experience in airworthiness programs or a combination of human factors and training experience that lend to successful execution of SMS related programs. Position Purpose:In coordination with the Corporate Safety Management System (SMS) Manager and site management, the SMS Site Process Manager is responsible for site-specific operational planning, coordination, administration, training and financial costing of all matters associated with legislative SMS issues.
Job Description
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:Essential Functions:
  1. Coordinate and administer the site SMS in accordance with corporate guidance, through direct communication with management and in consultation with applicable regulatory agencies.
  2. Promote and ensure compliance with the companys SMS requirements, including risk identification, assessment and control. .
  3. Obtain, analyze, and present operational data in order to assist in preventing personal injury and asset damage to aircraft and equipment. .
  4. Review regulatory compliance documents, develop compliance programs, and advise upon SMS process requirements of the companys Maintenance Error Management System (Gulfstream Occurrence Reporting System). .
  5. Monitor developments in SMS industrial practices and regulatory issued legislation and advise of any advancement that may be beneficial to the company.
  6. Maintain and oversee site management of the Aircraft or Equipment Asset Damage Reporting System and the Personal Injury Reporting System.
  7. Ensure that all SMS audit findings are resolved satisfactorily within the agreed time frame and corrective action is taken as necessary. .
  8. Ensure that all site employees receive SMS related training and that the organizations SMS procedures and standards are understood by all personnel. .
  9. Ensure that safety related initiatives derived through the SMS legislation are written and distributed within the facility.
  10. Ensure that regular internal safety reviews of the working practices within the facility are conducted. .
  11. Responsible for the procurement of any safety related equipment deemed as necessary for use within the facility.
  12. Participate in interviews regarding employment of safety related personnel. .
Additional Functions:
  1. Represent local site when communicating with enterprise peers. .
  2. Attend monthly teleconferences with enterprise safety management. .
  3. Promote SMS at the local level. .
Perform other duties as assigned.Other Requirements:
  1. Excellent communication skills required. to include a foundational understanding of workplace cultural change.
  2. Relevant training and experience with airworthiness safety programs and human factors programs.
This job requires one to be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
