Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Innovate and Design: Manage the mechanical design of manufacturing fixtures and tools from concept to implementation using our Process Improvement Team Request system.
  • Support and Improve: Assist project improvement teams with engineering support and help refine Ohio Gratings' manufacturing processes.
  • Document and Revise: Maintain and update manufacturing and tooling prints, document manufacturing processes, and recommend improvements.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure product quality by initiating corrective actions and researching new equipment and process technologies.
  • Collaborate: Work with operations and support personnel, provide input on cost and lead time balance, and contribute to design reviews.
  • Implement Lean Practices: Design and implement lean process plans for new products, and recommend methods to enhance quality and reduce costs.
  • Contribute to Documentation: Generate assembly instructions and support manufacturing capabilities expansion.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Available to work full-time (40-hour weeks) for the Co-op Term.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Detail-oriented with a passion for learning and process improvement.
